DrupalCon Minneapolis was set to be a watershed moment for our company. We invested plenty of time in creating high quality training courses and corresponding proposals for DrupalCon, and it paid off. Two different trainers from our company had DrupalCon Training sessions accepted (ReactJS, Advanced ReactJS, and Advanced Module Development). We were ecstatic!
Unfortunately, COVID-19 forced the Drupal Association into cancelling all training offerings at DrupalCon. This, paired with other COVID-19-related changes, impacted our training business somewhat significantly. We were even forced into asking one of our full-time team members to consider converting their role to a part-time position. Thankfully, they were able to find gainful employment at another organization before employment with us needed to end.
COVID-19 pressured our Drupal & React training team
I founded Debug Academy about 5 years ago with a goal of creating jargon-free, accessible, training programs which had a tangible impact on the trainees' lives, all the while doing so using exercises from real projects.
This pandemic forced me to take a step back from my full-time project work: our training team was being pressured, and my consulting projects were being put on hold.
I thought of the courses our alumni have been asking for; of all of the Drupal and React courses that I wished had existed. With my ongoing commitments to projects reduced, I finally had the time I needed to create and refine each of those training course offerings.
Thankfully, in this case, pressure created diamonds.
Our DrupalCon trainings are back!
With our newfound time and our ongoing commitment to accessibility & remote-availability, the Debug Academy team is proud to announce that we are offering our DrupalCon courses directly! We plan to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Drupal Association.

How has COVID-19 impacted training courses in general?
We are aware that a number of us are running on empty, many of us simply do not have the stomach for attending full-time training programs, and that's OK. Debug Academy has created a handful of new course offerings with our present reality in mind.
When creating new course offerings, we have elected to divide them into multiple, shorter sessions when practical. In addition, our courses come equipped with presentations, written material, live instruction, experienced instructors who can answer your questions, and, most importantly, thorough right-sized exercises paired with their solutions.
